Testimonials I bought the Country Dollhouse from
you December 9, 1999. I remember the date like it was yesterday. After I had
ordered the Dollhouse for my 3 & 4 yr old girls I went home to the fire
department putting my house fire out. While I was gone the electrical in my 1
1/2 yr old home started a fire in my kitchen area. All of our Christmas was
burned and gone. The Country Dollhouse was still at your shop and all I had to
do was pick it up right before the holiday. For 8 years the Dollhouse has been
my girls most favorite item they have ever had. We still sit and play with it.
They are now 11 and 12 and there isn't a week or two that doesn't go by that
they don't entertain smaller children with it, or just themselves. December 9, 1999 was bad day for our little family. But the purchase that I made that day has lasted a long time and will be with us for even more. My girls disagree all the time of who will get to take the Dollhouse for when they have little girls. Problem, it will stay at grandma's house! They will have to purchase their own. Please don't stop making them! At least for another 15 years. Everything worked out just fine, we were back in our house about 3 months later. The Dollhouse and Barbie's were pretty much all we could think to put together 2wks after the fire, but it was one of the best gifts that year. I love and cherish the memories that we have from playing with the Dollhouse. For three months it was the only toys that my girls had. I never thought about the cost because of the quality. You have done more than build something that will last, you created years of great memories for our family! thank you! ==================== Dear Mr. Martin, Thank you so much for offering a quality dollhouse product. I had shopped for a long time prior to purchasing your dollhouse for my daughter. There is nothing on the market comparable to yours, in quality. She absolutely loves it and I plan to pass it down to her children. Thanks again. ==================== Yes, we have the doll house and when we started to put it together we realized that no one has furniture for it. We are giving it to our grand daughter and will continue to order more furniture from you as we can afford it. I am also waiting to see the patio furniture. This has been a very fun project. When you spend a lot to make the doll house you want to fill it with the best furniture out there. We are so happy we found your web site. I will pass it on to the doll house store here because there are many people looking for Barbie size. Thank you again ==================== Sent with happiness, hugs and hope. =================== I found your site by searching for "1/6 scale dollhouse furniture." I have written an e-mail as well in regard to your dollhouses. Looking forward to hearing from you- I'm so grateful to you for offering a QUALITY alternative for 11.5" dolls! Best Regards, Thanks again, ==================== And how does the siding go around where the balcony on the patio meets the wall. I think maybe if you could send me some close up pics of the corners of the dormers, and of the siding around the patio balcony, that that would probably be the easiest way to show me how to do it. I don't want to do any more until I'm sure what I'm doing. Also, any suggestions on how to paint in all the tight quarters up in the dormer? The primer didn't look so good, and I know it isn't supposed to, but I hope I don't make a mess trying to paint it. You didn't attempt wall paper in there did you? I can't remember. Maybe a close up shot of inside that dormer would be helpful too. ...And when you make a pattern for your wallpaper, do you just do one wall at a time, and have it meet in the corners? What kind of paper do you use to make your patterns? I know.....Lots of questions. Thanks so much, you are awesome,
and I'm telling everyone who will listen about your houses. I can hardly wait
for Christmas, my girls won't believe their eyes... and it is going to be sooooooooo much better than it would have been if I hadn't run into your site
that night!! The house turned out beautiful! I need to take some better pics and I will send them to you... Hope your Christmas was Merry, and your New Year will be Bright!!! I really should get another set of drawers too. Thanks a bunch for all your technical support! Footnote: She purchased the
Country Dollhouse with no modifications because it turned out to be the perfect
dollhouse for her mice! The End! Just to let you know the dollhouse arrived safe and sound on Wednesday. I have been busy every since trying to have it ready in time, between work and of course Christmas shopping there was not much time but I am happy to say it is ready. The dollhouse is everything I thought it would be and then some. Very nice work and excellent materials. I know my daughter will enjoy this dollhouse for years to come and I am sure it will survive to be a toy for her children some day. Everything went great and the finished dollhouse is very impressive. Thanks again, Merry Christmas to you and your
family Sunni, mother to Vivi, age 4 OMG!!! I love your site. I have been searching all over the web for the perfect doll house for my daughter. I had one when I was young but it was not this beautiful. I can't wait till I can get it for her. ==================== This customer feedback was sent to us by one of our great soldiers stationed in the Netherlands. Hello Mr. Martin, Just wanted to let you know the shipment arrived on the 7th of March. Even though it wasn't in time my for my daughters b-day party she loved it dearly once I finished setting it up. I also wanted to say you are truly a talented individual each piece fit perfect. The only things that were broke in the shipment were 3 of the railing pieces and 1 window. Again thank you very much and I will send you pictures of my little girls treasure once we are finished. Sincerely Sgt Leipart ==================== Hello Mr. Martin, My husband put the dollhouse together, now we just have to paint it. He said he really appreciated the instructions (he's not much of a carpenter). My daughter cannot wait to play with it! I have given your website to several of my friends and one will be contacting you soon. Sincerely, Amy ==================== My wife for years growing up asked her parents for a Barbie Dollhouse and every year she was disappointed. In December I decided I would get her that house and I found Frank's site. I was so impressed that I called him and asked if it could be shipped in time for Christmas. Frank worked with me and even with the short turn around time I had for Christmas morning. My wife and I have enjoyed putting it together and she is thrilled with the house! It was easy to assembly and the quality the product was even more than I expected. I have ordered several additional items from Frank since then and I continue to be impressed with the product and the service. Thanks Frank! Kirby ==================== Hey Mr. Martin! It's Laura and Family in Texas. The Country dollhouse we got for Christmas this year is great, and sturdy enough for the kids to really get lost in play. They have made rugs, curtains and pictures. We Love our dollhouse. I put it together...no problem, great instructions, its beautiful! Thanks, Laura ==================== I just found your beautiful dollhouses last night. I can't wait to get one of the amazing houses. I haven't found anything like them. Marla ==================== Thank you so much for the wonderful service you provided with the order and shipment to our FPO address to come to Singapore! I was so impressed that you answered the phone yourself and made yourself available to me at non-working hours so that I could have my questions answered and order placed. Also thank you for working around our special shipping situation. I don't know of too many places that provide such great customer service anymore. You were very helpful on the phone, you were genuine and kind, and I was so impressed that you would try so hard to work around our shipping requirements for the FPO shipping. I know it was extra work on your part. I can tell from our conversation that you enjoy what you do and that you take great pride and care in building such beautiful doll houses. I can't wait to receive it and put it together for my daughters for Christmas. I will proudly tell all who I know about your website, great service, and great product. Thanks so much, Tami ==================== I found your website just by googling - there is no place in Australia that makes 'nice' wooden doll houses - you know the kind that will last for ages and can be passed down, then there is the difficulty of finding one that fits 11/12 inch fashion dolls. Will keep you posted...kind regards Tanya ==================== I've searched the whole internet for Barbie sized doll houses and keep coming back to yours. There is nothing in the world like them, they're beautiful (PERFECT) and I know my daughter Heather would play forever with one of these. My problem is that I live in Scotland, so, to buy the house and furniture and bits, and to have it posted over here will probably set me back about $900 +, which I can't afford. I can afford to buy the furniture, shingles, railings ext. & get them shipped over, (if you sell abroad) but it would be really helpful if I had the plans to make the Alpine or Chalet. I could start building now & get it ready for Christmas. Thanks in anticipation of any help, advice, best wishes,
Sharron, Hi Frank, Thanks for all the info. My husband has threatened to build a dollhouse from scratch but going by the state of our garden shed (he built it) I've decided against it and will order a dollhouse from you instead. Can you tell me how to go about paying for my order including the post price to the UK please? Your prices to Iceland etc. don't sound as dear as I feared. I thought it would be hundreds of dollars just for the post. Thanks again,
Sharron, ==================== I am in Dayton, TX. I can't afford to order right this minute but have to
have one in the near future. Maybe after Christmas. My granddaughter, Maddi, just
turned 5 August l. Her mother (my daughter) passed away with cancer July 22, 30
years old. I am decorating a room for Maddi so she can have a special spot at my
house (5 minutes away.) You will hear from me again as I have looked all over
the internet but your houses have a very special touch and I am not at all
surprised that you will be very busy. I am also glad it sounds really easy to
put together. ==================== Here it is 2007 and I "finally" found a Barbie house I like.........Better yet LOVE. Please tell me you are STILL making them! This is going to be for me, and my 3 grand-daughters. Please let me know! Susan ==================== Frank: We got everything on Friday - it has just been hectic here in Park Avenue. It was BEYOND FABULOUS!!!!! I can't wait to get it into the house, which should be this week. Thanks for everything. Ian ==================== We looked all around the web and elsewhere and we keep coming back to your Doll Houses. The quality and craftsmanship are like we cannot find anywhere else! We are very excited to have a Martin made doll house! Thank You! Alletta ==================== Hi, I own a dollhouse shop in --------, Texas and have been in business for 11 years. I just happened upon your site, and was very impressed! Every year I get many requests for Barbie sized houses around Christmas time, and unfortunately, there aren't many to choose from. I can choose from the Kits of my regular dollhouse supplier (very expensive), or the prefab ones (cheap), that are not good quality. Do you give any kind of trade discounts to shops? If not, that's OK, but I'd like to compliment you on your dollhouses. Thanks, Sherrill ==================== Hi, After searching for a good Barbie sized dollhouse for my daughters, I recently found your site. They are amazing! I have seen nothing like that over here in the UK. I am very interested in buying the Country dollhouse kit. But, I am confused about the total price. I would like to know what I would need to have it like shown in the picture (excluding furniture) but including finishing's like the siding. Also, what drawers does it come with underneath? I couldn't quite work out if you had to buy them separately. Could you also give me an idea of how much it would cost to send to the UK. Many thanks Sue ==================== Hi there! I purchased a dollhouse from you last year, and I am VERY happy with the quality and craftsmanship of it. I had so much fun shopping for the pieces to decorate the house and really enjoyed designing the rooms. My daughter loves to play with it. This house is not like the other toys that are played with for a week and then forgotten, a year later my daughter is still enjoying it! I would love to continue to design these houses, but I only have one child. I'm passing along some photos for your viewing pleasure. My apologies on the quality as they are scanned. I have since gotten a new camera, but I knew if I didn't send them now while I remembered, I may forget. Thanks again! ==================== Frank, I just wanted to write and let you know we are working on the Country dollhouse for our 2 ½ year old granddaughter Brooke. We purchased this dollhouse from you for Christmas this year. She is the only grandchild on both sides and has eight grandparents. You can imagine she has toys all over the place. Christmas shopping was very hard this year as I’d watched her pick up toys and put them aside. I wanted to buy her something that she would really enjoy and that would have special meaning for her. I also wanted her to stay a little girl and not grow up so fast. I teach school outside of Washington DC and the children today seem so lost. They are trying to grow up so fast and don’t seem to have anything that seems something to them. (This is across all economic lines, as I’ve seen this attitude even in the young kids in the private schools around my house.) I remembered back to my childhood and could remember playing dolls and house forever. My grandmother and mother who have both passed away played with me for hours. As it hasn’t been that long since I lost my mother I thought a lot about what she meant to me. I looked all over for months and then began looking online for the perfect present that I could buy for my granddaughter. I had pretty much given up and decided to make her a dollhouse and customize it for her and put all my love into it. That’s when I came across your website. I was looking for plans for a dollhouse and knew I wanted a large indoor dollhouse that she could play with for hours and clean up quickly. She is always so busy with a lot of people visiting her. I didn’t want her time at my house to be spent picking toys up. Your country dollhouse was perfect. I liked the idea that I didn't have to purchase the plans and being able to purchase a dollhouse with the major large pieces already cut out for me. This gives me the opportunity to spend more time working on the small details that will make it personal. It’s so much fun just thinking about how to decorate it for her. I have literally spent days looking in shops for just the right wallpaper and flooring. I found small ceramic tiles at Lowe’s that I’m going to use for the kitchen and bathroom. I am going to put in hardwood floors in the living room. I found just the right size “baton” sticks to make real look flooring. I only wish the stores sold more mini print wallpaper. I’m still looking for the right paper for the walls. I even put in a doorbell that plays twelve different songs. You can tell this is a special present and one that is being put together with a lot of love. When I finish the inside I will have to get busy on finishing the furniture. Which reminds me, I need to call you and order the rest of the furniture so that I can complete her dollhouse in time for Christmas. Thank you and your wife so much for making such a great dollhouse, getting the products to me so quickly, and for all your help. It’s so nice to have someone not just sell you something but to have an interest in seeing what you as a customer do with it. Again thank you and have a great holiday!!! Sharon ==================== Your work is awesomely beautiful! I don't have small children, but I love the houses so much I am considering becoming a collector. Do you have patterns or instruction booklets for covering the unfinished furniture. I am not crafty and would need simple instructions to work from. Thank you so much for allowing me to view your talent and craftsmanship, and what a rare find it is. Carlea January, 2009 On October my husband was in an auto accident that left him with a broken neck among other injuries. Going from two paychecks to one has been almost as painful as his injury! He is slowly healing but with Christmas right around the corner and three little girls (7, 9 and 10 years of age) in the house we were at a loss as to how to handle normal living expenses much less Christmas. Through the kindness of our families, co-workers, and our church we were able to gather the funds to order your Country Doll House kit. I was very excited to have such a wonderful gift to give my daughters since they would not be getting much of anything else this Christmas. As many can relate to, it is hard to know your children have expectations for Christmas, yet not be able to provide. The kit was also very good therapy for my husband who was not able to do much and feeling really helpless and down about not providing for his family - Especially with three little girls and their constant reminders of wants! He worked on the house for two weeks carefully placing the shingles and siding, to painting and adding finishing touches during the day while our girls were at school. The process was very good for him and the doll house turned out awesome! The craftsmanship you put into the kit enabled my husband to build a perfect doll house even with a broken neck and limited mobility! He only needed minor assistance from my parents to set the main sections of the house together. Each piece fit perfectly! On Christmas morning there wasn’t much around the tree, but the doll house made the morning bright! They were amazed and in awe over the sight of it. My girls have played for hours on end with the doll house and are enjoying every minute of it. I am sure this house will be in my family for many years. I have added everyone’s name that donated towards this gift to the back below your signature to stand as a reminder to my girls of how important it is to join together and help others during hard times. We are eager to ‘pay it forward’ and I want my children to have a permanent reminder of this trying time and remember the necessity of reaching out to others during hardships. Your house is the perfect reminder – one we will cherish and one that will provoke much joy. Thank you for offering such an awesome product - one made in the USA and out of real wood. Imagine that in today’s world! I appreciate the care and craftsmanship you have put into your product. God bless you! ==================== Melloney Please see attached photos from the completed dollhouse (the extra drawer units were not attached in the photos - I thought I would save my wife's back during the trip from the shop). We still have many ideas left that we want to incorporate into the dollhouse, but figure we can build on what we have completed so far. We will keep you up to date on future improvements and additions to the house. I wanted to thank you because completing this project was very fulfilling in many ways. Your product came as advertised, the pieces were dimensionally accurate, instructions relatively easy to follow and this made assembly easy which allowed my wife and I able to focus on the finishing work which really makes this dollhouse shine. Both my wife and I work and we had less than a month to complete the project (mad dash to Christmas). I would not suggest this schedule to anyone who wants to put much detail into the finished dollhouse. Frank, your availability and willingness to answer questions and make suggestions was greatly appreciated during assembly (the offset shingles are a nice detail). The dollhouse is very sturdy and I expect it will last a long time. I hope my daughter's family can enjoy it some day. As I said, my wife and I each enjoyed various aspects of the assembly and decorating and when we were done we looked at each other and couldn't believe what we had done together. Probably the most important part was the look on my daughter's face when she saw and played with it. So thanks again Frank and keep up the good work! Thanks again Paul and Kelly ==================== The dollhouse kits are out of my price range for this Xmas, but I am definitely going to bookmark your site for future reference. Your site is decidedly superior to other sites because of the detailed photographs you display. You are right about a picture being worth a thousand words. I can see the detailed workmanship that goes into your kits. You captured my attention as well as answering several questions with the pictures. To say the least, I am very impressed with your site and your products. Your site shows (literally) the quality and tastefulness of the product. The product designer shows great attention to detail; and the web designer also favors quality and simplicity. A company that cares that much about its product also cares that much about its customers. Best wishes and keep up the good work!! Sharon, ====================
Martin,
Thank you so much...I already finished
the dollhouse, had lots of fun building, painting and decorating. My little
girl Mya loves to play with it. While I was building the house she fell
asleep in the little room under the porch! She's in love with it. Looking
forward to eventually building the front enclosure and furniture.

Thanks for the email, I do not think I will buy her a Martin Dollhouse for Thanks again.
Mary ==================== Dear Mr. Martin, This year my Christmas list was filled with wishes for electronics, like a new iPod, iHome, DSI, digital camera, new wii games, and so much more, but my mom and dad decided to give me one of your wooden stoves. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed, at first. Then I opened the oven and there was a note telling me to take the stove out to the garage to see my the rest of my gift. I was confused, but I followed the directions; Santa might still be watching. Getting ready for next year. In the garage, I found one of your Barbie-size dollhouses sitting on my mom's workbench. Ignoring my list was the best decision my parents ever made. I love my dollhouse! I love that I can play with my girl action figures, like Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, Alex (Wizards of Waverly Place), Gabriella, Sharpay, my Camp Rock dolls, and my one Barbie doll. I also have a Troy doll. He has bad hair. I can play with my Littlest Pet Shop Pets and a set of Angelina Ballerina stuffies because they fit nicely in the house. Guess what else. I can play with all of them at the same time too. How cool is that! Their worlds come together in my dollhouse. Best of all, I also get to decide what happens in each room. The rooms are so big, I can make them be what I want or need. For example, when the family is having a party, I put the kitchen on the second floor, and everyone hangs out in the living room, dinning room, and Great room on the first floor. When they want to have a cook-out with just a few friends, I move the kitchen to the patio, and they have an outdoor kitchen and cook outside. When the gymnastic coach lives there, the Great Room becomes the workout gym. I made a balance beam already (it also works as a bench for the patio) and am working on a trampoline and mats to protect them from falls. I'm going to make a small disco ball, like the one I have in my canopy, except it will be a lot smaller. The house is all about how I want to use it. I love that most of all. My daddy doesn't like it when I leave out the things I was playing with, even when I'm not finished playing. So having a front on the doll house hides the "mess" when I'm not playing, but still in the process of playing. I don't have to put it all away after I just got it all set up. I also like having the drawers under the house to store all the things that I'm not using yet. I am going to put in sock dividers in the drawers to hold all the little things my dolls need, like clothes, shoes, and things. I also love that there are real stairs and stairwells that my dolls can actually fit through. It makes the action more real. I don't like those two-story houses where there are no stairs. You have to take the dolls out of the house to get upstairs. Cheap. I'm in the process of decorating my house and that is fun. My mom and I are working on it together. I really like that part, even if she won't let me use her old hot glue gun (the glue is so hot it smokes when it comes out). We get to make something together. She is teaching me how to cut wood with her Japanese draw saw (and not cut myself), how to paint, and I'm going to learn how to do wallpaper too. I love my dollhouse. I can't wait to show it to all my friends. I know they are going to want one too. I always wanted to put together a "REAL" doll house, but the grand kids are
into Barbie Dolls. Hated the plastic ones in the store, then found your
dollhouse on the Internet, it was just what we were looking for!
It took me a year to make the furniture using plastic canvas, my husband
took several months to build the doll house, said he didn't have to rush!
As a team we had a lot of fun doing this project, the instructions were
great and there is a lot of room for your own personal decorating ideas. We
gave it to our granddaughter on her 4th birthday, and could not have been more
pleased with her reaction to it. Her brother and sister, age 2 started
climbing into it, good thing this was built to last.
==================== I DID A LOT OF RESEARCH ON DOLLHOUSES AND CHOSE MARTIN DOLLHOUSE COLLECTIONS. I AM HAPPY TO REPORT I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED WITH THAT CHOICE. THE ENTIRE KIT WAS PROMPTLY SENT WITH NO BACKORDERS, WAS PACKED WELL WITH NO DAMAGE TO ANY OF THE PIECES. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE VERY "READABLE" AND EASY TO FOLLOW. THE PICTURES AND ILLUSTRATIONS WERE VERY CLEAR AND HELPFUL. WHEN I NEEDED ADVICE AND GUIDANCE WITH THE FLOOR ,WALL AND COLOR SCHEMES I WAS ABLE TO CALL FRANK AND "PICK HIS BRAINS". AND HE WAS VERY HELPFUL. I ENJOYED THIS PROJECT FROM START TO FINISH. I PARTICULARLY ENJOYED INSTALLING THE SIDING AND ROOF SHINGLES AS THEY GAVE ME A GREAT SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT WITH THE CHANGE OF APPEARANCE OF THE DOLLHOUSE BEING SO PROFOUND. THE BEST PART WAS WHEN I GAVE THE FINISHED PROJECT TO MY 5 YEAR OLD GRAND DAUGHTER AND WAS ABLE TO SEE HER EYES LIGHT UP THE FIRST TIME SHE SAW IT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE MARTIN DOLLHOUSE COLLECTION FOR THE BEGINNER OR EXPERIENCED WOODWORKER. ====================
